Orchidee A Fluorine Free Foam Concentrate - 20L Drum

SCOPE

Orchidex A is a fluorine free synthetic firefighting foam concentrate designed for use as a wetting agent and as a low, medium and high expansion foam.

When proportioned with water and applied with foam equipment, Orchidex A provides a thick, slow draining foam blanket for an excellent control and extinguishing of Class A and Class B fires. Orchidex A provides excellent penetrating and wetting qualities when used on Class A combustibles. This is important when extinguishing deep-rooted fires in coal mines, wood, paper warehouses, tyre and rubber factories, lumber mills and other ordinary fuels.

Orchidex A has superior drainage time.

 

APPLICATIONS

Orchidex A can be used with conventional fog or airaspirating foam equipment for immediate wetting and cooling.

Orchidex A quickly penetrates burning material allowing the cooling properties of water to take effect sooner – resulting in a rapid fire control. When Orchidex A is applied through special foam generating equipment the thick foam blanket sticks to even vertical surfaces.

Orchidex A can be used with the conventional foam equipment with fresh, sea or brackish water. At low and medium expansion, it can be used on hydrocarbon spillage fires with self-inducting foam nozzles and foam nozzles with in-line inductors or with most common types of hardware for application.

At high expansion Orchidex A is used for flooding fire areas involving Class A and Class B fires. It can be used with all types of foam generators.

Orchidex A is compatible with dry chemical powders such as ABC and BC powders.

 

ENVIRONMENT & TOXICITY

Orchidex A is considered as biodegradable material with minimal environmental impact. More than 90% is expected to be biologically degradable within 28 days. The material is non- toxic to Humans, Fish or Animals.

Orchidex A is completely fluorine free and PFT free.

 

STORAGE

It is recommended to store Orchidex A in its original containers at a temperature between -12°C and +40°C with suitable covers, protected from sunlight in order to maintain its original physical and chemical characteristics and to reach a shelf life of 15 years and even more. The foam should be tested for its physical properties and specifications after 5 years from the production date, and thereafter retested each year. Freezing and thawing have no adverse effect on the product performance, though a slight stratification may result; in that case, a moderate mixing before use is advisable.

Orchidex A is available in drums (20 L/kg, 200L/kg and 1000L/kg). Shipments can also be made in bulk.
